I am a 1996 Graduate of Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I also hold a Director Credential from The Pennsylvania College of Technology. It has been my pleasure to have been working in the Early Childhood Education field for 27 years. I taught preschool for 17 years and I have owned my own preschool and child care business for 11 years. My husband Mike and I, are the proud parents of 4 children; Ann-Marie, Max, Katie and Jackson. We also have 2 fur babies, Bailey and Murphy, the Labradoodles! We are always on the go in one way or another with our big family!
I decided very early on in my career that Early Childhood Education was the place for me. I feel it is so important to build a strong foundation in a child’s educational journey and make them fall in love with being a lifelong learner! I believe every child is a gift and every child is unique. It is important to me that we acknowledge each child for who they are and not for who we think they should be. The Reggio Emilia Early Learning Philosophy fits perfectly into my vision of how I believe children learn best.
In my spare time you will most likely find me at one of my children’s many extra-curricular activities. After working all day and being “Mom” to these 4 kiddos, there really isn’t free time for much else, and I would not have it any other way. My favorite thing to do is to watch them play their sports and participate in their extracurricular activities. When I do take a break from “real life” you will most likely find me at the beach, any beach… or at Disney… Land or World!
Hello! My name is Mary Tocimak, and I am the assistant director/preschool teacher at Dall’inizio DaySchool! I came to the school with over 17 years of experience in education.
Books are a passion of mine, and that is why I began my career in education teaching English at a secondary level. After having three children of my own, my path changed from teaching high school English to early childhood education.
Often you will hear me singing-real songs or made up ones, reciting nursery rhymes, and sitting with a classic book such as one of my favorites: Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Eric Carl’s. I love infusing literature into the curriculum and everyday activities!
When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy concerts, traveling, and have recently taken up kayaking.
Hi I’m Miss Carmen, the kindergarten teacher! I graduated in May of 2020 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and majored in Early Childhood PreK-4/ Special Education PreK-8.
I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I started going to school. I remember coming home from school just to play school with my stuffed animals! I hope to inspire my students like my teachers did to me!
I can’t wait to see what the school year brings! What I enjoy most about teacher is how excited they get about learning new things! My favorite book as a child was a “Winnie the Pooh” collection. I love fishing, crafting, and spending time with my friends and family!
Hi! I’m Miss Monica. I am one of Dall’Inizio’s Toddler Teachers I am working towards my Child Development Associate.
I started working here because I want to be able to help children grow, learn, and explore. Children are tomorrow’s leaders and I want to help shape them into kind and caring people. In my free time I like to relax, hang out with friends, and practice my makeup skills.
Some of my favorite children books are “Little Bull” by Ellen Foley James, “Papa, Please Bring Me the Moon” by Eric Carle, and “Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse” by Kevin Henkes. I look forward to teaching and exploring this school year!
Hi, my name is Miss Meghan and I work the toddlers. I have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
My favorite children’s book is “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See/” by Eric Carle.
In my free time, I like to either relax or watch movies or go out and exercise.
I chose to work in the ECE field because I love watching the children’s faces light up when they have made the connection and figured something out. For instance, when they finally get the fork to work or when they finally get that puzzle piece in the spot they have been trying to get it in for a while.
HI! I’m Miss Courtney and I am one of the Infant teachers at Dall’Inizio School. I have my Associates Degree in Early childhood Education and have hopes of pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in the future.
I enjoy working with young children to help grow their abilities and their mind with learning new things to help them succeed in the future. My favorite children’s book is Goodnight moon by Margaret Wise
Brown.
In my free time I love to spend time with my husband Jared and two miracle children Zaine and Callie. We like to go to the park, on walks, and just relaxing at home watching a movie together.
